Dr. David Krug – Vice President
David A. Krug, parent of a young man with Asperger’s, has a PHD in special education from the University of Washington. David is a professor emeritus of special education at Portland State University and is currently engaged in evaluation of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Barbara Avila – Secretary
Barbara Avila is a Family Autism Consultant currently serving families in Oregon, Washington and Australia. She has been in the field of autism since the early 90’s starting as an aide, behavior therapist, group home parent, teacher and autism consultant for ages 0 – 18 years. She has volunteered with the Autism Society of Oregon for 7 years and served as president of the board. In 2008, she started the Portland Autism Group for professionals, focused on ensuring best practice and resources for autism in our Portland community. Barbara was an active board member and secretary of the Autism Research and Resources of Oregon until late 2011. Read Barbara’s Full Bio here
