Introduction – What’s in a name
It’s time for some seriously creative thinking. ARRO presents three rooms at the Westside Family and Community Center, none of which has a cool name like Pantheon, The Acadian, the Benson Hotel’s Mayfair Room or the Hilton’s Crown Room. This will be a 4 phase process.
Phase 1 – The Board Begins
In the first phase, starting October 14th, the ARRO Board spends two weeks deliberating, commenting, and generally coming up with names to present to the loyal followers of ARRO.
Phase 2 – The Loyal Followers of ARRO
In the second phase, the names presented by the ARRO Board will be put forth to the past, present, and future loyal followers of ARRO. In addition, the loyal followers of ARRO will have their chance to weigh in on the creative naming process. This phase will continue for just 10 days, lasting until the end of November 8th.
Phase 3 – Compilation : The Board Weighs In
The third phase will last a grueling 3 days. From November 9th, 2010, until the end of November 11th, 2010, the ARRO board will weigh in on the final list of names, created jointly with the Board and the Loyal Followers of ARRO.
Phase 4 – The voting
Polling stations will be ringing with the frenzy of voting to be had during this election. No write in ballots over this weekend; three, and three only, shall emerge victorious!
Phase 5 – November 21st (formerly 17th)
On November 21st (formerly 17th), the winners will be announced. Without a donation of incredible significance, we will, doubtless, skip the speeches and ticker tape parades. Sure, a small amount of confetti will likely be tossed, and maybe even a word of thanks from the Board will appear as a Post on the ARRO webpage. The gratitude, however, will be immense, and everyone will be welcome to join in the festivities at the next event at the Westside Family and Community Center. And Sean’s Run, of course; everyone simply must join us at Sean’s Run From Autism – 2011.
What I have so far….
The Rimland Room
The Greenspan Room
The Lovaas Room
(all passed away in the last 2 years; all major contributors to what we see in the autism field today, and all very different from one another in their approaches… so it lends to the collaborative effort we have as our mission).

For scheduling reasons, the Board Meeting will take place on November 21st, 2010 at the ARRO Westside Family and Community Center. At that time, the final names will be evaluated and announced. Thanks for hanging in there! 🙂
